Ok, I am Belgian so I am a harsh critic. I have not been back home since months and there is no belgian restaurant where I live in the US so I jumped at the chance to eat my beloved mussels and frites.
For starters we had the delicious shrimp croquettes. They were excellent, better than some I have tasted in the home country.
Then I had mussels. My biggest disappointment is that, whilst this place claims to be authentic Belgian, they don't offer the way we really love mussels in Belgium: Mosselen Natuur or in English: just mussels with onions and celery, no wine, no garlic but just very simply done.
It was not offered here so I went for 2 nd best the Mariniere. Mussels were good but garlicwas overpowering.
Frites were nice. Mayonnaise was not up to Belgian standards and no mussle sauce accompanied the meal.
Dessert again was excellent. We had the trio of Creme brûlée. Very good.
All in all not bad. Be aware though that this place is small, very busy and loud. Must be better in summer when windows open and you can sit outside.
