Overall, this is a nice Hampton. Clean rooms, friendly staff and a good location if you are working at or attending an event at the convention center. Would have been better if the free internet was faster. Speed was barely better than old dial up, even at night - don't even try to watch a Netflix movie.

Perfect for Realscreen. nice walk to restaurants convention centre Breakfast was okay, Did not like the egg and ham mix but everything else was good fruit, buns coffee good. Bar was open for a late night cap, Shrimp cocktail looked good but did not try. Service was excellent, had an early check in, held bags till rooms were ready, good directions to to downtown, they got me a car to to to American Girl for my daughter.

Our bartender Jeffrey was so so nice and attentive! Will definitely come back! Came in from Philly for the flyers game , and the hotel is only two blocks away! Super convenient. And happy hour is half off, so it's cheap to pregame before heading out.

We stayed here for the inaugural ceremonies. I travel to DC about 3-4 days a month and usually stay at full service hotels. My favorite is the Renaissance which is about two blocks from this hotel. The area is fantastic, with great restaurants and easy access to the Chinatown metro stop (which accesses multiple metro lines) . This is absolutely the best Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at, approaching the service level of a Hilton Garden inn (one of my preferred chains). Why is that? First, the rooms are better than your average Hampton Inn. You get a microwave and a refrigerator (standard for a HGI, but rare for a Hampton Inn). The rooms are a little larger. The only small complaints are the views really are terrible (an alley with graffiti) and the hot water takes a long, long time to get hot. Second, the breakfast is a big upgrade from the standard Hampton Inn, with waffles and some hot dishes. Third, THEY HAVE A BAR!!! Ok, its not a big one, but Jeffrey the bartender is great and mixes a very good martini. There is a happy hour with three dollar drafts. This is a great place to unwind and watch some sports.

But the best part of this Hampton Inn is the staff. They cannot do enough for you, from the front desk to the bell staff (a rarity at Hampton Inns) to housekeeping and the bartender (OK, I needed to mention him twice). We asked for a late checkout. No problem. We asked for a chair to be removed from our room. No problem. It was the inaugural ceremonies, they put free handwarmers out for people along with a map on how to get to the capital and the parade.

Yes, parking is valet only and pricey, but no more so that at other DC hotels. You can not go wrong by staying at this hotel.
