It's really breathtaking. I thought it was so calming and beautiful. It really is a sight to see. It makes you fell calm inside.

“Definitly go, at night.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2011

This memorial was the first war memorial I saw and it was during the night in one of those night or twilight tours (btw, not worth it...get a bike and visit all the main attractions again at night, you can take better pictures and spend all the time you want enjoying them sitting there. If you are going with kids, maybe do the tours better, bikes probably are dangerous for kids at night).

I went during the day and it's still nice to sit and so, but not as great as during the night. You get amazing photos from it of the washington monument, the lincoln and the capitol. Plus, there's not as many people at night as there is during the day (and this applies for every monument).

Only downside...there's not a clear place where to park your bike...but you can still keep it in front of you while taking photos or sitting next to the pool.

“Big and about time, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2011

I was surprised when iI found out that this monument were from the 21st century! So late after WWII? The monument are big and quite beautiful, but in its greatness, it sort of repeats itself. A quick look at the surroundings, the wall of stars and a short to find the official "Kilroy was here- graffiti" and this monument will be a fast run by.

“Beautiful and grand”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2011

This is very well done. I do with there was a star for each casualty to give a better picture about the price that was paid. The columns are grand and it's a very proud place to be. It just needs a little more of a personal tough to it.

“I am glad there is finally a memorial but......”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2011

Great to see one but it lacks the emotion of the Korean or Vietnam memorial. Makes you think, helps us remember but it is colder and more grandiose.
