“Loud but great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

If you can go to an early dinner to escape the noise, you'll find great side dishes and salads. The pizzas are creative and fresh. Even in the back room, though, this is a very loud restaurant.

“Just like in Naples, but without all the surrounding filth.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

This.place.is.legit. Already endorsed by the Napoli Pizza Police (their real name), they live up to the honor. It's busy, but the servers are still attentive, and the pizzas are just like they should be: crispy and chewy crusts, fresh and high quality toppings, cooked in a wood fired oven. A friend got a calzone, which was equally good - and I don't really go for calzones usually. House red was delish and inexpensive, and the panna cotta is a must.

“Simply the Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Reliably excellent pizza, you might never taste any better even in Italy. I recommend the margarita pizza, no need to get fancy here. Service is always good. Remember to ask to have your pizza sliced, if you don't, it comes unsliced.

The only negative is that this restaurant is always crowded and astonishingly noisy, but you can ask to sit upstairs or outside; both are comparatively quiet.

“Love the food, but”

Two Amy's has terrific food, but takes no reservations, wait can be long, and it is extremely noisy, not a place to relax.

“True Neapolitan Pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

This is 'la vera pizza Napolitana'--brought to DC by chef Peter Pastan, also chef-owner of Obelisk, one of the best restaurants--if not the best--in town. True attention to detail: great thin, wood-fired crusts, superb fresh ingredients. An excellent wine and beer list, fuill of affordable surprises. Wy wife and I are the authors of 'Serenissima: Venice in Winter' and we lead photo tours there and in Umbria, so we know Italian food. 2 Amys is the real deal.
