I visited the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden enroute to the museum of Natural History. It was in close proximity and seemed such a relaxing welcoming reprieve that we couldn't help but wander inside. The sculptures are standouts in the garden and yet seem to fit so nicely in place. It never hurts to take a little while to allow your eyes to enjoy beauty and your mind to take a quiet vacation away from ordinary. This is what the Art Sculpture Garden is. A reprieve. Almost another world within the world of the National Mall area.
