Montmartre was one of the restaurants in the area we were staying that was recommended to us. After reviewing the menu we chose this as our "special night out" place, and were glad we did. We were a little late in making a Saturday night reservation and sat at one of the high tables near the kitchen. As is often the case, we loved this seating. Got to see all the action and smell everyone else's food as well as your own!
Every selection of every course was excellent and the wine very good too. Service was great and the atmosphere fun.
We actually ate here again the next morning with friends for Sunday brunch. It's a popular place and they don't take reservations then. We were there when they opened so we were seated right away. It was a pleasant brunch, but didn't compare to the night before. We ordered simple plates - omelets, all around. O.K., but nothing special, which was also true of the juice and coffee. Perhaps if it had been warm enough to sit outside and we had ordered differently it would have been a more memorable experience.
Splurge and go for dinner!
