“Great spot on Capitol Hill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Five of us arête dinner last evening and the food was excellent. A casual spot with a good wine list and terrific menu. Just noisy enough. Would go back next time I am in DC.

“Outstanding service for a French neighborhood restaurent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

The best part of this neighborhood hot spot is the menu and the amazing dishes that just keep coming out of its little but super busy kitchen. Our experience (4 people ) was delightful and the food world class. Easy and simple atmosphere, good food, a tight wine selection, graceful servise and a chocolate mousse to die for. Strongly recommend the rabbit and the oversized pork chops. Scallops a sure winner and the Hanger Steak made to perfection with three colors of pink. This palce is a must try for that casual care free outing. Outstanding French food in an unpretentious setting. Excellent customer service. One of BATMAN's top 10.

“Charming Bistro Near the Eastern Market”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

When one enters this charming neighborhood restaurant, it's easy to imagine being in Paris, NYC, or an increasingly gentrified east capitol DC neighborhood! This restaurant is a nice venue for a casual date, a special gathering of friends, a dinner before a show at the Folger or the Arena Stage. We have celebrated holidays, graduations and many friendships here.

Some items on the menu are better than others: the rabbit is always delicious and a real treat (although rich), the hangar steak and frites are quite good, and the fish specials are fantastic, The mussel appetizer, the frisee salad, and the Kobe beef are not memorable. Wine selections are nice as are the desserts! Creme brulee is exactly as it should be served, and the 'floating island' is a fun dessert that is not found in many local French restaurants.

Located on a very cute block with other restaurants, the Eastern Market, a bakery and small shops, it is easily accessed by metro. Street parking is easy (and free) in the evenings.

“Excellent French restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

This building is being remodeled right now, so scafolding outside doesn't look very attractive - but don't be deterred, food is excellent here. I had really good scallops and wine, while my partner enjoyed tender hanger steak. I would return here.

“Convenient to Metro and very pleasant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Food was very good, bread was good (a quick way to assess a restaurant, in my experience), service was pleasant and unpretentious. Close to Library of Congress (I walked there but could have taken the Metro one stop). Pricey but maybe not by DC standards. Small place, and tables are close together; it was crowded on a Tues night even as early as 6 pm!
