“Stellar falafel plate at a reasonable price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

I don't know where the "Moby Dick" part of the restaurant name comes from, but like the other reviewers, these guys can really make great Middle Eastern food. Nothing fancy, just delicious. On my next visit, I'm getting kabob.

“Delicious kabobs at a reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Moby Dick House of Kabobs is a local Washington, DC area mini-chain. In DC, there are 2 locations: this one in Georgetown and Dupont Circle (on N Street between Connecticut Avenue and 19th Street NW).

Moby Dick is Persian (iranian) cuisine, and the atmosphere of all of its restaurants is casual.. The kabobs, especially the chicken kabobs, are delicious. It also has a good variety of wraps, gyros, and salads, and good vegetarian options and appetizers (I recommend the hummus). And the light, fluffy rice is to die for! Best rice I've ever had at a restaurant. Be warned: kabob & rice entrees are huge--enough for 2 or for 1 with leftovers.

Moby Dick is also a good place to take kids. Since the remodeling that was done a few years ago, the Georgetown location is a lot more comfortable and attractive looking. Prices are reasonable; most kabob entrees are $12-$15, on average; sandwiches and salads are a bit less. Moby's is one of my favorite restaurants in DC; I tend to go to the Dupont location more often because I work closer to it, but the Georgetown location is just as good.

“Delicious + Affordable.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

Sometimes you just want to grab a quick bite, or as my roommate says, some "fast casual". Better than fast food, cheaper and quicker than a dinner. The meats are succulent, the hummus divine, and the service is quick and friendly enough. This is a great option (and definitely better than Lebanese Taverna for similar food) for kebabs.

“Persian Style with low price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

I went there twice in January. First time quality of food was great. But the second time, Ground beef kabob was not completely cooked and it smells.

It is a little bit over priced because they served food in plastic dishes like the cheap restaurants.

Overally, it was not that bad!
