“Great Pizza near Museum Mall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

If you wish to walk 8-10 blocks off the mall area to free yourself from over priced museum cafe's which serve few options this is a great pizza/italian restaurant.

This place not only has great pizza and friendly wait staff but a nice beer list to boot. My personal favorite is Allagash White (belgium beer) and they happened to have that on tap. I ordered the salsiccia piccante pizza which had tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, spicy italian sausage, banana peppers & red onion and was delicious and my wife ordered a salad and pepperoni pizza which she split with a friend and they were both very happy with the choices and portion sizes. There were also 3 children who all ordered their own entree's and the bill was still just over $100 (including tip, 2 beers and soda's) which I thought was very reasonable for the amount of food ordered.

We got there at 12:30pm and were fortunate to get the large table on the right but around 1pm the place got crowded and a decent wait formed. Id certainly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from the museum mall area and have a nice affordable meal. There is even a parking garage right next door which had a very reasonable saturday rate of $13 for the whole day so we left our car there ate and toured some museums.

“Great pizza in a friendly environment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

We were looking for pizza while on vacation in DC and came across Ella's. The pizza was amazing and the environment relaxed and family- friendly. A great meal.

“Neither Pizza nor Restaurant were Good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

The seating in this restaurant on the most part leaves a lot to be desired. The tables are very close and the place is noisy. We sat in a space that was no more than a foot from the next table. Sorry, but that is too close for me. They only serve 10 inch personal pizzas with a low of $11 and up depending on toppings. We both had a single serve cheese pizza that was crispy but had absolutely no flavor at all. The cheese and tomato sauce just had no taste. Note that you cannot order a large pizza to share, which is unusual. The service was attentive and courteous. Sorry but I cannot recommend this restaurant for both its product and physical set up.

“Very good food and a friendly staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013 via mobile

We went on a Saturday evening when there was a hockey game at the nearby Verizon Center. Were told there was a 45 minute wait for a table for 3 so we sat at at the fairly small bar and ordered a couple drinks from the friendly bartender. Got a table in only 30 minutes. Two of us had pizzas and one had the pasta with chicken. Pizzas were very good, although I personally would have liked a crisper crust, which I'm sure they would have done if I had asked beforehand. Pasta was very good. Prices are very reasonable and the waiter was friendly and efficient. We would definitely return.

“Pricey but worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Excellent home cooked food. Waiters were very friendly. Husband and son had the spaghetti and it was awesome. The Pizza was just as good and I loved how the waiters made recommendations to go with our food. Try to make reservations if possible, especially on nights that the Capitals are playing. Would go again.
