“Great name & marches to its own drummer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

I visit once or twice a week before work. Not a corporate coffee shop. In fact, it's not just for coffee. Cup cakes are inventive, large and tasty. If you need a cake for a birthday or special event, call ahead and order. The baristas serve up good brew, and try one of their biscuits with your morning jolt: you'll be full till mid-day. Lovely scene next to historic canal.

“Cozy coffee place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

This is a cozy coffee shop with nice outdoor seating on the sidewalk. It has a nonconventional feeling to it. The coffee expresso that I had was good but had a slight bitter taste. The atmosphere made up for it.

“great and huge cupcakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

we saw the rave reviews and had to try it out. We tried 4 diff cupcakes between 4 of us. the vegan oreo, the vanilla with chocolate frosting, the lemon with raspberry filling and the banana peanut butter. The only one that was not the best was the banana. The lemon was to DIE for. highly recommend that one. the others were very good too. also they are huge! i had to take half back to the hotel :)

“Wonderful bakery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

I personally prefer Baked and Wired to Georgetown Cupcake, which is right around the corner. Their cupcakes are better and so is the space. And you don't have to wait in ridiculously long lines...for a cupcake and coffee.

“Best cupcakes ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

I've tried a LOT of cupcakes in my time, and I had a lot in DC on a recent stay, and Baked and Wired wins. It's a combination of 1) Great ideas for the cakes - not just the classics like red velvet but innovative flavours too 2) Great frosting 3) Great cake - seems silly to say it, but so many cupcake places waste a good idea or good frosting on dry dull sponge, these actual cakes would have been really good even without all the toppings.

Service was impeccable, really friendly but also efficient on a very busy night.

And that's without even mentioning the other treats they do beside cupcakes - I tried a couple of their bars like Caramel Blondie and Raspberry Crunch and was blown away, might even prefer them to the cupcakes!
