“Great meal, great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

We were in DC in February and were looking for great seafood on a Friday night. We found it! The bar and Raw BAr area are very inviting so we enjoyed a cocktail there before being seated. As far as the food is concerned, rarely do my wife and I order appetizers, salad, entrees and dessert but we had to at Oceanaire because everything was too tempting. They have a tremendous array of seafood, much of which is prepared in vary unique fashion. The shrimp cocktail was delicious; the waiter told us that they use horseradish and brandy in the preperation of the cocktail sauce (be warned, it is very spicy!). We had a great table looking out at the dining rest of the dining room. The staff was efficient, friendly and well versed on the menu and specials. We will definitely return.

“Nice place, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

The food at Oceanaire Seafood Room was good but the stuffy staff made the restaurant less than desireable.

“Best Seafood in Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Oceanaire is a really big restaurant with a great raw bar and booths that are circullar like old hollywood. The food is always fresh. Seafood brough in everyday. The side dishes are great and there is a vast wine list.

“Still the best seafood in DC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013 via mobile

Was downtown with friends attending the DC car show and wanted to have dinner in town before heading back to the burbs. Took a chance on getting in on a Saturday night ( it was early ish ) and they seated us right away. Been here many times before ownership changed, but the food was still top notch, service excellent and the decor still reminiscent of a 30s cruise liner. My swordfish was superb, and others really enjoyed big eye tuna, filet mignon, lobster bisque and of course, hash browns ala oceanaire. All in all a great impromptu evening with good food and good friends. We'll be back.

“A gem in DC should not be ranked 152!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

First time diners at Oceanaire. We're food snobs. I'm a good cook, so the food has to be great for me to consider leaving my kitchen. My girlfriend recommended Oceanaire because of my love of seafood... I was impressed. The food is delicious, the service decent and the restaurant is lovely. We were surprised to see Oceanaire ranked number 152 on tripadvisor... It just goes to show you that the top ten restaurants are there because people want safe, not because that restaurant is the best (people can be sheep). Try Oceanaire, you will not be disappointed. We'll be back. Oh and FYI: Portions are huge, so don't over order like we did.
