“Terrific restaurant for a group”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

I visited this restaurant the week of July 10th with a business group of 13. We had to take a 9pm reservation as that was the only time they could get us in with a weeks advance notice. Other reviewers were on target, great food, huge portions ---share if you can! I shared a ravioli with meatball dinner and a Caesar salad with a friend and the portions were perfect! Great bread served as you are seated, and complimentary after dinner drinks of amaretto and sambuca, very nice touch!

“Best of Best Italian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

This is absolutely one of the best Italian restaurants where I have ever had the pleasure to dine. Filomena is authentic traditional and always fresh. I had the Calamari Alla Sicily for starters and it was amazing. Enjoyed main course of Osso Bucco Alla Costello, which was an experience all its own. Atmosphere, service and delicious food speaks for itself. Truly loved the end of meal bottles of Sambucca and Amaretto for pouring your own after dinner drink

“Excellent Service, but Nothing Memorable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

Yesterday my wife and I visited Filomena. The place was packed. It also looks old, outdated, and clustered. We started with the Arancini. They were good, needed a better consistency. I ordered the pasta penne with Italian sausages. The sausage was good, but the sauce was a little bland. My wife ordered the manicotti di fungi. It was good, but the quantity of cream was overwhelming. They serve a lot. We could only eat half of our plates. I don't like throwing away that much food. We didn't order dessert because we were full and because they look very unappealing. The service was excellent. We don't think will be back. It was nothing memorable.

“Delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

Great dinner! We loved our experience dining here. Everything we ordered was delicious. Very fresh pasta made on premises. A little bit loud early in the evening.

“homemade ravioli are great but overall lackluster”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

It's fun to see the ravioli being made in the front window when you first walk into the restaurant. The main dining area is downstairs where you're met with a giant display of cheesecakes. so fun to look at the choices. Overall nice ambience. Our server was quite disinterested in our dining experience so that was disappointing. We shared the burratta and tomato appetizer which was also slightly disappointing. The tomatoes were under ripe. The bread served was mediocre. My husband and I split the homemade cheese and spinach ravioli in a vodka sauce. The ravioli were quite fresh and light and delicious but that was most definitely not a vodka sauce. The sauce was creamy and had a predominately garlic flavor to it--very tasty, just not a vodka sauce. Perhaps I'm too discerning a palate when it comes to italian food. I'm all italian, grew up on Long Island, have been to italy a couple times and make my own sauce, pasta, pizza, etc. There are better Italian places to frequent.
