We had dinner twice at the McCormick & Schmick's at 901 F Street. Both times we dined agreeably in a lively atmosphere. The first evening we arrived without a reservation, but they got us in. I had Parmesan crusted flounder, which was excellent. My husband had pecan crusted tilapia, which was good but not as delicious as mine. We ordered a bottle of French wine, a Sancerre, and the manager personally came to apologize as they were out of stock; we substituted with another French white which was acceptable. On our second visit, we had a reservation. We ordered crab cakes, which were good, but the sides of fries (seasoned with some Cajun spices, but nothing special) and cole slaw were very ordinary. The restaurant had, though, restocked their wine cellar and our Sancerre was in stock, which made us happy. If there were a rating of 3 1/2 stars, I would use it. As it is, I'll give a generous three stars.
