“Warm and relaxing restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We ate at the Old Ebbitt after our night monument tour which was aroud 9.30ish. We were so happy to find a place open.
The restaurant was warm and cosy on a freezing January night. The furnishing were tasteful, the service was impeccable. Our server knew everything there was to know about the food and the wine available.
The food was heaven sent! We ordered chowder, crab cakes and lamb stew. All dishes were 10/10. Would definately return!

“Make reservations, Get here early or be prepared to wait.Either way, its worth the wait”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

This place is in a wonderful location and has a very storied history. Many locals hang out at one of the many bars inside and with the good food and reasonable prices, its quite popular. We went and got there very early, 6:00, so we didnt have a problem getting a booth. The crowd in DC eats much later than in many other areas. We had the crab artichoke appetizer and both of us ordered the crab cake meal. Yummy. They dont use much to keep it together so its mainly big chunks of crab. It comes with green beans and a half of a sweet potato, both of which were cooked perfectly. The server was adept at knowing when to stop by, not rushing us but ensuring all food and drinks were to our liking. How nice to have someone who actually is a professional server! I love this place and would definitely go back.

“Amazing Crab Cakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Some of the best crab cakes you are ever going to have. Those alone are worth the trip. Add to it the great location and service, and this is definitely a place to visit. Waits are always long, but you typically move quicker than what you are told by the hostess. Save room for desert, the bread pudding is also a treat.

“Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

I went here for lunch. My table was next to the waiter station which was kind of annoying but the food was great. My waiter was ok. He brought my beer, checked on me once after I got my food and that was about it until it was time to bring the check. I got a reuben and fries. The sandwhich was delicious. You could really taste the corned beef and tell it was of great quality. I would recommend this place as the food was really good.
