5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2014

A superb hotel clean and tidy and the staff are really helpful. It's in a great location for all the attractions i.e. White House. Etc. The complimentary breakfast is fine sets you up for the day. I would strongly recommend buying a day ticket for on /off touring bus buy the all route ticket you'll see more of Washington DC.

I have stayed in plenty of Hamptons before, but the staff of this Hampton was excellent! Especially the night clerk, Portia, who welcomed me the first night and was a delight every evening. Great job!

Green Features: Excellent environmentally friendly practices, right down to divided recycling trash cans in the room!

We stayed here for 1 night right before New Year's to visit the Smithsonian museums and the White House and National Christmas Tree. We loved our room - very clean, big enough, and a beautiful bathroom. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the morning, and the breakfast room/lobby area was plenty big with lots of tables and seating areas. Great options and well-maintained.

We were pretty disappointed to find out when we were checking in that the pool heater had broken and so the water was cold. We had chosen this hotel for the pool! However, since the maintenance man was there and telling us this news, he also told us the chlorine levels were fine, etc. So my kids still swam the next morning!

I was awoken about 1:30 am by very loud music and crowd noise - apparently, there is a nightclub behind the hotel! We were on the 9th floor - not sure where you stay would help block the noise out. Just need to be aware. It ended about 2 am.

And the parking worked out well. Pulling up to the curb in front, we were greeted by the valet attendant, who answered our questions - yes to in and out privileges, and the parking fee was just added onto our bill, which simplified things for us.

We did find many breakfast and lunch places within close walking distance, and walked to Johnny Rockets for dinner (I do not recommend it). We also walked to the White House in the evening, about 1/2 mile away, which was very special at night! And got to see the National Christmas Tree lit at night!

We did find it difficult to find the exact location of the hotel since it is on a short stretch on street, so just be aware of the picture of the front of it!

Overall, we would certainly stay here again, and I would use the complimentary earplugs that were on my bedside table!

Green Features: Did appreciate that there were recycle bins right near the elevator on the guest room floors!

Great place to stay -- it's new, the staff goes out of their way to be helpful, and it's in a great location. Décor is modern; rooms are bright and clean, and it's priced very reasonably. I highly recommend the Hampton Inn White House.

My mom and I travelled to DC and were initially attracted to this hotel because of its location. We were so impressed. The hotel is brand new and looked it. The staff was beyond friendly- each person we encountered went out of his/her way to make sure we were comfortable. The staff was attentive, friendly, quick to respond and knowledgable. The breakfast was of standard Hampton Inn quality and made the value very worth it. The rooms were very large, quiet, comfortable and clean. The fitness room is beautiful- TVs on each treadmill, disposable headphones, wipes, weights, etc. There was also a great snack room including beer and wine. We walked to the White House (very close), as well as some further walks (about 2 miles) which were comfortable if you like walking- Verizon Center, National Mall, etc. Overall, this is an amazing, new, beautiful hotel with friendly, accomodating people.

Green Features: Wonderful- choice of washing every day or choice to reuse. Recycling bins in the hallway were wonderful.

We are surprised with this very well located hotel in DC, near the White House, fine dining, stores for shopping, coffee.
If you like good hiking, you can visit many attractions. The atmosphere is family.
The pool was not working at the end of December 2013 for 6 nights and this was the reason for us choosing this hotel. So you better ask this before making the next booking.
But, believe it was casual. The hotel is very good.

Room Tip: If you want to have fun with the pool, ask if it's working before booking.
