“Clean and affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

I booked this new hotel on Priceline for a discounted price which is probably why I rated it so high. The staff was friendly, the hotel and room was also very clean. The location is good, not great. It is close to George Washington University but not very close to much else. It is about a half mile walk to the metro, which can get old after a few days. Taxi are aware of this and are always sitting outside or driving by looking for people walking out the door. Parking onsite is extremely expensive. I parked in the George Washington university visitor parking garage for about half what the hotel would charge. I then moved the car to the street on Sunday because parking is free and there was plenty of street parking. The bathrooms only have showers which is a negative in my opinion because after a long day of walking around DC it would be nice to relax with a bath. Overall the hotel is good for the price I paid, they also have FREE internet which is great and helps them stand out from many other hotels . Next time I visit DC I will probably look for a hotel on the east side of the white house, but may fall back this hotel if I can find a good price on that side.

We stayed for 6 nights. We found the hotel to be very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Also, the rate was great for this area. It was about a minute walk to the nearest metro stop. Also, the area felt safe to walk around even at night. It is near the University. The staff was great about calling taxi cabs to be there when needed. The night of our arrival it was late and we opted to eat in their restaurant. What a terrible mistake! Not only was the service horrific, but the food was almost not eatable. We ordered a plain pasta dish which took almost an hour to prepare and it was NOT worth the wait! On a scale of 1-5, I would rate the restaurant a 0. Although there is a Starbucks kiosk in the hotel, there is also a full-service Starbucks on the cornner and Subway right outside the hotel. Also, Whole Foods Market isabout 5-10 minute walk.

Room Tip: We had a room that had a nice balcony that the sliding doors opened up to. It was nice to open the d...

My hubby and I stayed here for the evening recently and enjoyed our brief stay. We attended a concert at the nearby Constitution Hall. The employees that I encountered were quite friendly. Tayvon checked us in and provided a recommendation for dinner. We took his recommendation and walked three blocks to Tonic. The rooms at this hotel were quite comfortable and furnished in modern decor. Adrienne greeted us upon return from the concert. If you ever plan to stay here and attend a concert at Constitution hall, always take an umbrella to be safe and never assume that you will be able to easily catch a cab to get back! Anyway, this is a nice, clean hotel. Small pantry with snacks/goodies. No room service. Parking is extremely expensive IMO. It's $36. Other than the high parking fee, I would have nothing even remotely negative to say.

Having lived in the DC area several years ago, it was nice to come back and stay in a nice motel. Rooms are very clean, beds extremely comfortable and front desk staff very friendly. Loved being able to walk to so many attractions.

Room Tip: Quiet...even though located in a busy section of city. Rooms clean and beds very nice.

Stayed here while on a 3-day business trip. My colleague picked it on the grounds of its location. He agreed with me afterwards that it was a bad choice. If it weren't for the very friendly and helpful staff and the excellent bed, I would have rated this place only two instead three out of five. The hotel is totally without charm or character. There is nothing original or distinctive about it. Maybe some people like that. I don't. Moreover, it was a complete rip-off. 330 bucks a night when that's what you pay at, say, the Westin Georgetown, is ridiculous. The room was OK: great bed, but otherwise lacklustre. There was a really crappy coffee maker with two sachets of coffee but only one of creamer. Some positives: free wifi, decent shower. Breakfast was a la carte, but a complete rip-off. Next time I'm in town I'll go back to my favourite place: the Georgetwon Inn.

This is a very nice new hotel with a spacious lobby and nice rooms. It is conveniently located for sightseeing, or anything related to George Washington university as it is literally part of the campus, attached to a campus building. It is a tad pricey.
The main problem is the inability to get a cab at the hotel. I was very disappointing when the front desk asked if I needed a taxi and I said yes and they said they called for one that would be there in 10 - 15 minutes. Well the called a sedan service, not a taxi. Sedan service to Capitol Hill is about 50% more than taxi service. I then tried to get a cab on my own, which took an additional 15 minutes. The Hotel is on a side street and not in a location many cabs just happen to drive by. Recommendation to the hotel is build a relationship with one of the cab companies not a sedan company.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the elevator - i heard a dinging noise quite frequently.

We stayed one night at the Courtyard located in the Foggy Bottom district of DC to visit American University. The hotel was a short walk from the Washington Mall and the White House. Lots of greThere is parking on site but would have liked to park our own card instead of using valet service. The hotel staff was very accommodating. The rooms are very clean, decent sized for a city hotel, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to DC.
