“Our return trip didn't disappoint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Ate at Farmers Fishers Bakers on our last trip to DC and it was the one place we made a point to revisit. Make sure you order the BrickOven Pretzels. I had the Long Bone Chicken, my wife had the 3 Baby Cheesburgers. All that and a glass of beer, a great setting for only $35. What's not to like.

“Noisy and average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

We dined here because we had Kennedy Center tickets, and this restaurant is about a 10 minute walk from the Center. This also means we dined early (6 pm). Even at 6 pm, the place was packed and noisy. The menu is all over the place -- fish, chicken, beef, pizza, etc. It's really hard to figure out what they might do well since they seem to be trying to do everything. Overall, I'd have to say that most of the food was tasteless and just needed some seasoning. I had the flounder francaise, which was breaded fried fish. A friend had shrimp -- overly breaded and deep fried and sitting on a mound of french fries. The best dish was an ahi tuna, seared. We did not have dessert. In sum, the food seemed like overpriced, underseasoned bar food, and maybe if we had stuck to the pizzas and burgers we would have been happier.

“Fun dinner in DC!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

I don't know DC well, but was so happy to discover this restaurant. I was dining alone, and it was a fun, lively atmosphere late on a Monday night. I enjoyed watching the ice skaters from the window. My salad--brussels sprouts and green apples over greens, with shrimp on the side--was so delicious I tried to recreate it as soon as I got home.

“Wait staff was excellent!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Start with the pretzel appetizer and you won't be disappointed! Long pretzel rods that are warm, with three delicious dipping sauces. Our waiter was quite knowledgeable about the menu, his
suggestions were accurate and tasty. Portions were appropriate and the service was really good, pleasant staff, pleasant environment too. And to top it off, the bathrooms were spotless and nicely decorated!
