Owner description: The U Street Corridor is home to some of DC's iconic foods. Ben's Chili Bowl, home of the half-smoke, is there plus an area referred to by some as "Little Ethiopia" due to the large number of Ethiopian restaurants.

“Something for everyone”

Nice little area tucked into DC, lots of different restaurants and bars. I have only been here on weekend nights and always have a great time, Oya and El Centro are great places to eat, make sure to make reservations, and Taboq is a really fun bar with a great martini list, there are also some jazz clubs a specialy wine bar (Church Keys) and a hip hop clob, all in all whatever mood you're in there is something for you!

“Sad I Moved Away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

What a great place for a late night treat, or lunch, of dinner. I've read that they even serve breakfast! Oh, and they have a stand at National's Park, so you can have it at as baseball game, too! Really, this place is great, the chili dogs, burgers, fries, or half-smokes (personal favorite) are the perfect treat. Milkshakes rock, too. Also, I met Abe Lincoln here...odd, I know...

“Best half smoke in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Ben's has the best half smoke in town by far! Only drama is parking in DC, so I suggest metro right across the street.

“Clubs and theaters”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

You have to be careful walking around at night. Not the safest area. Fairly high crime area, but when you are going to a club or theater and lots of folks are walking around it is safer.

“Lots to see”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

U Street has gone through a great renovation. A lot of restaurants and the Lincoln Theater draw many people but my favorite place is Ben's Chili Bowl. It's worth the trip.
