Great location, helpful and kind host. You're provided a parking pass for the street, and the metro is only a 5 min walk away. If I return to the DC area, I'll most likely stay here again. I would have been happy to stay longer.

We stayed at Celia's for 2 nights in mid May. The B'nB is in an excellent location very close & an easy 20min walking distance to Capitol Hill & the National Mall. It is a beautiful old home in excellent condition. Celia was welcoming, helpful & organised making our stay very relaxed albeit rushed. I would stay again.

Room Tip: A cosy & quiet sleeping space, with a light & pleasant adjoining sitting room to spread out...

Staying at Celia's place was to experience what it would be like to live in the area. It's a 2 story, narrow historic brownstone and you are literally a guest in Celia's home. Celia herself is a smart and charming host with a fascinating history of her own! Her beautiful cat Maggie will greet you from time to time. The breakfast is continental, with toast, yogurts, fruit, cereal, coffee and tea offered. The stairs to second floor bedroom are narrow and old so be prepared to navigate your bags up. The small bath is in the hall and right by bedroom door. Being an older house, there are a few quirks with locks, door knobs, lights etc. but this is all workable. The bedroom is quite small and bed is a double/full bed but seems smaller. Really a tight fit. Small TV with cable is on dresser. Attached to bedroom is a sitting room with loveseat and chairs and lots of windows and plants and books. Eye masks are available if early morning light bothers you. Wifi here was slow but worked best downstairs in main sitting room. Very few plugs are available to charge electronics. When Celia was traveling we were given access to main room with a lovely bay window in front.
Lots of personal history in the photos and books decorating the home. You let Celia know what time you would like breakfast ready and it's served in large dining room. No additional service like beds being made or bathroom towels changed, but if you have a request she seemed very accommodating.
Best part of this stay is the location. It is right behind Library of Congress so you can easily walk to Library, the Capitol building, and many museums on that end of the mall. Just 3 or 4 blocks to Metro and churches, and 1 block from many restaurants, shops and a Starbucks. Very close to Eastern Market (highly recommend) with great food and shopping (open Saturday and Sunday).
Staying here lets you live the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Only room for 2 people though. Squeezing in a third person is just not possible.

We really enjoyed our stay at Celia's place. She and Maggie (her cat) welcomed us into their beautiful home which is conveniently located in a beautiful neighborhood near the Capitol. Not far is East Market where there are any eateries, interesting shops and coffee houses. Celia's accommodations are great! A comfortable bed is a necessity and Celia provides just that!

The house is so close to Capital Hill. We had a great time being able to walk to close destinations and Metro access is easy too. We were warm and cozy even though it snowed and was quite cold during our visit. Breakfast was great and enjoyed reading the paper over coffee at a lovely dining room table. Bed was comfy.

This isn't a high-end, clinical hotel...it's more like staying at someone's home. The room is very comfortable and clean, and having a sitting room was great. (Plus, there are books everywhere!) The location couldn't be better. I was able to walk everywhere and didn't have to use the metro, so even if this place might be pricier than others, you save money that way. The breakfast was good too.

The location was excellent, within walking distance to main attractions, restaurants and mini marts.our host Celia made us feel very welcome and comfortable staying in her home. The rooms were small however well appointe, homely and clean. This was our first experience at a B and B and would definitely return and also recommend it.
