Perfect hotel right near White House. Well run, handsome decor modern bathrooms with Lanvin toiletries and friendly, accomodating staff. Look no further for wonderful breakfast. Price on Skoosh much cheaper than other sites but it's a pre pay

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! I am happy you enjoyed your experience with us. To ensure your personalized accommodations, I recommend booking directly with the hotel, and we can almost always match a deal you have found on a third party website. I hope you will be back again soon.

Truly,
Anna

I enjoyed my brief stay at the Sofitel in D.C. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. It was having a little bit of France in the U.S. I left my diabetic materials in the room and didn't notice until I returned home. The staff (front desk, concierge, and housekeeping) was helpful in retrieving the items. I received a call to confirm the items and a call when the items were packaged for mailing. This is quality service.

In brief: a sleek, well-run, extremely well-located DC establishment.

Sleep: we had a regular room on the 11th floor. Lack of view (save next-door offices) offset by pleasant design, intimate and variegated lighting and fine amenities. Non-opening windows - this American standard really saddens us - lends stuffiness even to the best of rooms. We did not sleep well during our two nights here. Jetlag or dust?

Wifi: free for basic connection, pay for faster options.

Bath: No complaints. Good toiletries.

Breakfast: not cheap, and dishes varied in quality and presentation.

Amenities: basic gym. Beautiful public spaces.

Service: Professional and friendly. The doormen's bonjours and other Francophone greetings, a Sofitel touch, manage to sound hearty rather than haughty.

Location: Couldn't be better for downtown DC business, and commuting to Georgetown was a breeze.

General "feel" - effortlessly elegant. Open those windows!

Thank you for choosing Sofitel for your visit to Washington D.C. It seems you enjoyed our little piece of Paris in the heart of our Nation's Capital. Even though our guestroom windows do not open, like most hotels in the city, we offer a lovely outdoor patio for fresh air, and the luxury king rooms offer an outward facing view of the city if you prefer. I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back again soon.

What a beautiful hotel. Our room was huge and we wanted for nothing. Service from staff was, as always in Sofitel hotels, excellent. Their restaurant and bar is worth trying also. Sofitel Washington is located only a five minute walk from the White House - perfect location for a sight-seeing holiday. Highly recommended.

this was a really lovely location to stay in DC. The rooms were lovely and well appointed, though not the largest size room for this price bracket. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is because I found some of the service to be a little unfriendly. However the actual delivery of service was great.

Thank you for choosing Sofitel for your visit to Washington D.C. I am happy to learn you enjoyed your overall stay with us, but I am disappointed that you did not experience the same warm, personalized service that our guests so often rave about. I can assure you this is atypical of our Ambassadors, and I am confident that when you return for your next visit you will enjoy a true Sofitel experience.

I stay of the Soditel in Washington, DC almost once a month and as always it is a great stay. The location is very central and walking distance from most on my meetings. The staff at the reception is very courteous and friendly, always eager to help. We have booked meeting room for 5 people a couple of time and it is well stocked with coffee, sodas and refreshments. It is a bit pricey but well worth the quality of the room and food. Our breakfast has been a hearty meal, with quick and efficient service, something you like when you are in a hurry. The bar is a great meeting spot. And I have always seen families with kids, so I think that it is a great hotel for families on vacation in DC. Will definitely keep going back!

We stayed 3 nights in October with our two children. We arrived prior to our check in time and the reception staff went out of their way to get our room sorted as quickly as possible and had us in early, which was wonderful. Room was a really good size on the 8th floor. Two double beds, large lounge area. Spacious bathroom and loads of space to put your baggage (four large suitcases). Very clean. We were there when the government shut down had just started, but the staff made sure we had other options to visit. Location is great, just a couple of blocks from the White House and easy walk around to the Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Washington Memorial, Reflective Pool etc. We also walked from the hotel up to the Capital Building, Newseum and Spy Museum (all worth a visit). For us though, the level of assistance and friendliness from the staff always make a difference and we were really well looked after here. The staff made the kids feel welcome at all times. This was the last stop on a four week trip for us so we were a little tired, thus choosing to eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day/night. This was an easy choice anyway because the food was so good, especially the breakfast. Great choice and even a second menu with healthier low calories choices should you wish. Concierge was great with organising taxi for us to take us and our many luggage items off to the airport. Probably only issue, was the beds were a little squishy, but still slept ok. Will definitely stay here should I visit again.

Overall it seems you enjoyed your visit and you mentioned one of my favorite parts of the restaurant- our Delight Menu! It is menu created by our Executive Chef Franck Loquet, that focuses on calorie conscious options while not sacrificing flavor. Just like the regular a la carte menu, the Delight dishes change seasonally and are a delicious choice for healthy dining. (Plus then you can save the extra calories for those croissants!!)

Anna
