Stayed here for a seminar during Sandy. Probably the best thing was the staff and their interest in our being prepared for, well, whatever. Right down to giving us flashlights. Maybe I've never been in a hotel during dire weather conditions, but I thought this was pretty cool.
Never missed a beat, solid back up generators, I guess.
The only (minor) complaint was that, while the shower head was one of those massive disks, the water pressure was weak. Everything else was what I'd expect from a solid city-center hotel.

Thank you for choosing Sofitel, we hoped you enjoyed Washington even in inclimate weather. The safety and comfort of our guests is of the utmost importance to us, so we take all preventative measures possible to ensure this. Fortunately for us, everything held up just fine, and we wish the best to our guests and their families who may have been affected by the storm.
