“Great Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2013

My son and I stayed here for one night while in town for a physical for bone marrow donation. The location is perfect if you are visiting campus or the hospital. We walked to Georgetown for dinner and some shopping in the evening. The staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations.
We ordered room service for breakfast since we were in a hurry to get to the hospital. It was prompt but very disappointing and expensive!! Next time, just get up earlier and head over to the very busy Starbucks nearby.

I stayed here while visiting a friend who was staying elsewhere in Georgetown. The rate was much better than anywhere else in the area. I had taken the train to the city and the hotel was really hard to find on foot! Partially because the hotel is part of the Student Center and the map showed it's location, but not where the door to the actual hotel was.
My room was clean, modern and spacious. The bedding was enough that I was hot even with the air conditioning on in December!

Was there for conference. Rooms renovated and bed comfortable, all in all nice stay. Only the paid internet is a disadvantage. Otherwise can recommend.

I find it funny to find safe in the bathroom... But why not? :)

Ideally located for visiting Georgetown University Campus. Parking & unloading car in the pouring rain & driving wind not so great. But the hotel & staff were very nice! Dining options nice but limited. Easy walk into shopping of Georgetown community

If you are visiting a Georgetown student, this location is ideal. It is on campus, close to dormitories and much off-campus housing. Being on campus saved us a great deal of time and allowed my sister, who has stayed at this hotel several times, and me to spend time with her daughter between classes, as well as at the end of the day. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance, (though better ones if you travel into DuPont Circle or beyond) and a very nice riverfront area within walking distance, too. The drawback is that there is no Metro station nearby, but we could access the GUTS bus to DuPont Circle and get the Metro there to access other parts of the DC area. For the more adventuresome, there are plenty of DC buses to access off Wisconsin Avenue. So for location for visiting Georgetown University families, the hotel gets a 5 star.
However, the hotel itself is not a 5 star -- more like a 3.5. The rooms, particularly the bathroom areas, could use some updating. The building is older, which is not in itself a problem, but some adjustments could be made. Adding a small refrigerator in the room, for example, seems like an inexpensive improvement that could be easily made.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was pretty quiet, though that may not be true at other times of year. There was little noise from outside, except one night from the nearby but small stadium, and that ended relatively early. Room prices vary significantly depending on the day of the week and week of the year; the convenience of the hotel may not justify the cost (about $400 per night) of staying there for graduation.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor on the courtyard side if you do not wish to stare at the hospital. However, yo...

If its a quiet academia environment you are looking for, this hotel will be fine for you. Its great for parents, family and friends who want to visit on campus also. The conference rooms available are great for seminars and workshops. For those who like to shop, it quite near a good shopping district!

Hotel location is virtually imbedded within the campus, next to the university hospital, part of the student union complex and across a small square from a dining complex. There is a free shuttle that takes students and guests to Dupont Circle which is a definite plus. Otherwise, many guests will find themselves needing a taxi to get to area restaurants and back into the District. Rooms are fine, service at the front desk is friendly, but the in-hotel restaurant is limited. Conference facilities are in good condition but somewhat limited. If you like to wander around a college campus the location can be considered somewhat charming. Otherwise, there are other hotels more proximate to dining options in Georgetown and with better access to public transportation.
