Felt I made the right choice as soon as I walked thru the doors. The desk staff are extremely courteous and you feel that they are genuine in their manner. The appearance of the facility from the lobby to the room is clean and updated. They even called up to the room to make sure we felt everything was alright and safe after settling in for the night. The breakfast bar was fully stocked, clean and well maintained. Those staff members managing the area did an excellent job in assisting the patrons. They too were very friendly. Would definitely staff again.
Only downside was the limited shuttle service hours to and from the Metro, but that may be due to the time of year and limited tourists (December).
Good value for the cost....I have never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before (usually Hampton Inns). I will definitely go back to this hotel when I am in the DC area again.

It was my First visit to Washington DC and this fantastic hotel in August 2012. I think It's the best choice if you go by car to Washington DC. Because there is a safe and free parking @ the hotel with good acces to the city and the touristic things. There is also a free shuttle bus @ the evening to the and from the city. The hotel reception was clean and not long waiting to checkinn with friendly people working here. The rooms are big and very clean and nicely decorated with a flat screen tv and a big bathroom with enough towels. The price/quality is very good bacause there is also a free breakfast included in the price. And there is also a indoor swimpool. It was a nice stay.

The photo's look great and the property is maintained ok but the staff is beyond RUDE! From everyone we came in contact with at the hotel from the FD clerk to the breakfast host to the shuttle driver they were all rude and displayed a very unprofessional manner. The girl working Saturday morning really did not want to be at work, when we asked about the shuttle she was extremely annoyed she had to get up out of the chair in the back office and come and answer our questions - even my 7 year old daughter commented on her bad attitude. Other guests were waiting to be helped but she ignored the intentional noises being made by them to get her attention. I'm surprised the hotel manager employees such people. The rooms are ok, TV is fuzzy and NBC channel doesn't come on at all, shower curtain slides to the middle of the rod throughout the course of showering which was really frustrating. Carpets could use a wash and the headboards need a good wipe down. The shuttle was handy just have to be careful of the times of service. They should label the items in the market so guests don't bother the front desk when wanting to buy something! Whatever it is they are doing in the back office is way more important than any guest in that hotel!

We stayed here throughout the Thanksgiving holiday Nov.21-26th, 2012. It's a very nice, clean place.The manager Laurie was very welcoming and when they accidently booked us into a room that hadn't been cleaned yet, they gave us a discount on our room and and quite quickly changed us into another very nice room. The food is OK, hot and cold available.Just got a little tired of eating the same thing 5 days in a row, but guess we had a choice to go somewhere else if we wanted, but we chose to eat free there! The shuttle to Union Station is available only until noon and then resumes again at 6:00pm, I wasn't aware of that until we got there. We did use the shuttle but also had to use taxis a fair amount as there is no other public transportation readily available there. We did have to wait quite awhile one nite for the shuttle at Union Station, he apparently took 45 minutes for a 20 minute ride to get there... we did complain about that the next day, the driver wasn't at all apologetic either, in fact he was quite sarcastic in his remarks to us, when he finally got there. Otherwise staff overall was quite friendly and Laurie was very nice. I would definitely stay here again for the price,cleanliness and staff,depending on where we had to go in Washington, D.C.as I had said it's not in the best situation for transportation .purposes
