“Fantastic staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

Fantastic place, the rooms are regular and also the cleaneless. Is very well localisated .
But the staff are fabulous, since reception, breakfast service and at dinner a boy with litle braids is very nice and sympathic, make your best effort to help with the food and also with the food of our sons. Congratulation. At the reception there also cofee and tea free for all guests.

Stayed in august for 3 nights, its a good hotel well located friendly service a bit noisy but they supply ear plugs ( which i have never seen a hotel do before ) great for a short stay. Would recommend this hotel .

Hotel was clean and located close to the metro and other attractions. Staff was very polite. Cable TV was static at times and some channels did not display. The refrigerator and microwave were a great addition to the room.

This hotel has to have the worst mattress ever. Supposed to be a sleep number bed, but absolutely nothing happens when you turn the number dial. Spent a good part of the night rolling in and out of the large sagging cavern in the middle of the bed, even when trying to stay real close to the sides. A good night's rest is really the first and most important job of a hotel. Major fail. I was told I could try to move to another room, but I didn't want to pack up all my stuff and move to the same old mattresses. The room was very warm the entire week I was there, despite having the a/c set on the lowest temp possible. I was told engineering checked and it was working fine. I wanted a breakfast to go one morning, was told they could do that, but I was given one small plastic container. Not ideal for hot eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. I asked for a second container or a smaller container for fruit, but was told no, that "they" were really strict about their containers. Not a good introduction to the Hilton brand for me.

Dear KAYCEE,

I agree with you that you should have had a better nights sleep. From what you described, it sounds as if one of the air baffles in the sleep system failed causing the sagging mentioned in your review. I will coach the restaurant. We don't supply containers for take out since it is a buffet. Having said that since you were essentially having a "grab and go" option, we should have bent the rules.

Please let me know the room number you were in so I can investigate the bed and we can discuss what we can do to make the situation right.

Sincerely,

John Rish

We loved this hotel from the great service to the great location. We were able to leave the Ronald Reagan airport via metro and it took us to the McPherson metro station that is directly across the street from this hotel. Make sure you exit the station via 14th and I street! We were able to walk to White House and National Mall and metro was so handy! We had two rooms and both were ready when we arrived. The front desk person, Eddie, that we dealt w/ for our 7 night stay was so ready to help us with all our needs during our stay! He made our stay one of the best we have experienced at any hotel! The concierge, Jonathan, was also super helpful in helping us pick a night tour that worked for our family! We were able to take a private tour w/ our own driver who took us exactly where we wanted to go and see the sights we were interested in. The price was comparable to one of the the Big Bus tours, but we got to choose the destinations. Food- there is a Subway sandwich shop, 5 Guys Burgers, Au Bon Pain sandwich/soup shop, and Hershey's Ice Cream shop all w/in a block of hotel. Also, a CVS down the block for incidentals and such. We will definitely stay here again!

This hotel was amazing and so was the staff. Walking distance to White House and so much more. Restaurant and staff were exceptional. We came in town with 3 kids and 3 adults for One Direction and the staff took excellent care of us from arrival to departure.

I recently spent five nights here while on holiday. I really liked this hotel. It is close to the tourist attractions - an easy walk. Rooms are standard size, well appointed and although ear plugs were provided, I didn't need to use them. Breakfast was standard Hilton fare and good. The staff were really accommodating, responsive and friendly. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble. It is downtown so there aren't lots of cheap restaurants nearby but the concierge directed me to good places to eat and places close by to find things I wanted. The foyer is small and can get crowded but it never seemed to become a problem. I recommend this place for travellers who want to walk to museums and memorials.

Room Tip: Not sure, but join Hilton Honours to access free wifi.
