“Polished, modern hotel - a bit far from downtown DC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

The hotel, though >$20 taxi fare away from downtown DC, is very modern and polished. The establishment is huge; they have three towers. The bar is comfortable and clean. I stayed in the Center Tower, which was very nice.

Do try the restaurant "Hot N' Juicy Crawfish" across the street from the hotel - it is so good!

Tip: if doing a weekend trip, there is free street parking down the street from the hotel on Woodley Road between Connecticut Avenue and Woodley Place NW.

Room Tip: They are renovating to the front of the hotel now so don't expect a great view.

Attended a conference at this hotel in May, 2012. The hotel was beautiful and the hotel staff helped make this the smoothest conference I ever attended - and I have been to many! The hotel is conveniently located to the Metro, which gives access to just about everything DC has to offer. The hotel neighborhood was charming, with plenty of dining options within a block of the front door. Only negative was that in room wifi was not included with the rather expensive room.

Stayed at the Marriott Wardman for a conference and was very pleased. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean. My husband and kids enjoyed the outdoor pool (and lifeguard) while I was at my meetings. Walking distance to the Zoo which was great. My only complaint was the lack of free wifi in the rooms. It was free in the lobby but was hit and miss. The conference rooms were also ridiculously cold. Definitely would recommend this hotel to others.

Stayed 2 nights at this Marriott for a conference - had hoped for a room in the beautiful old tower but all were full. While the hallways in the newer section were a little dingy and dark (low ceilings), the room was very comfortable and appeared clean. Used the work out facilities twice and they were very nice. Location of this hotel was fabulous - went walking each night to catch dinner and some exercise, couldn't have been better. Amenities at conference left a bit to be desired but I believe that was more the conference organizers issue than the hotel. Would stay there again.

The hotel is very nice, in a pretty good location near the metro. The room was clean and nice until...we used the bathroom. I'm 5'10 (1m78) and the shower head her me BELOW the shoulder. I'm not kidding. My boyfriend, who is 6'5 (1m96) couldn't stand straight in the shower because his head hit the ceiling. Needless to say, the shower experience left much to be desired. The blow dryer was terrible- it made a ton f noise and blew little air. Finally, there were no extra pillows or blankets for our use (which are usually available in the closet). So...definitely some ups and downs during our stay. I would rate it average to poor.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

We stayed here with our family. The location is lovely. It's not too far from Geogetown and the metro is jut down the street. It has all the amenities needed. I was disappointed with the room and bed sizes. It is impossible for a family of four. The beds are too small and the room gets way too crowded. The hotel would benefit from creating some family rooms. I was also taken aback with the prices charged at the lobby restaurant. It cost me $31 for two, one child and one adult with extra coffee.

Room Tip: Rooms accommodate two people nicely, more than two is uncomfortable. Visit local restaurants down t...

This us a HUGE hotel but it's very nice. It shows you that a large size hotel does not have to be a negative. This place is run very, very well. The staff was excellent and friendly. It's super clean and the rooms are very nice, although we didn't survey any other room but ours, perhaps some of them could be considered on the smaller side. This hotel obviously is meant to house large convention groups, but we were here to check out DC, which is easy to do because the Metro is right next to the hotel. Plenty of restaurants nearby to chose from but do your homework to select a place that's been reviewed well, and don't get pulled in by their tourist lures. The hotel pool was nice, but it's outside, so it's just seasonal. Like I said, the massive size of the hotel did not detract in any way from our stay.

Room Tip: We asked for a higher floor and they accommodated our request.
