“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

I went by myself based off of the Tripadvisor DC app, and was not disappointed. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and really enriched my experience in the church. It was interesting seeing it on a Sunday noon time as mass was going on, but plenty of space for pure art-lovers like myself to indulge. I will take visiting family and friends here from now on. The architecture is amazing, albeit I have never been to Europe.

“Beautiful - MUST SEE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

The church itself is just breathtaking... but it's the other visitors who make it such a special experience. Watching other American Catholic families come in to appreciate and celebrate the beauty and depth of our beautiful faith is just so inspiring. We had several instances of random smiles, kind teenagers who held doors for our strollers, sweet offerings to take photos of our family - everything you could ask for. Such love.
Great expression of our lovely faith in this country!
Bonus - we were visiting on a Friday during Lent and were trying to figure out where to find a meatless meal... the food in the cafe was DELICIOUS, Lenten-appropriate FISH!

“The most beautiful church in the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

We have toured hundreds of churches throughout the world and this one is the crown jewel with over 75,000 sq ft of fabulous mosaics. Regardless of your religion, this is well worth at least two hours of your time in DC.

We drove and easy to find and plenty of free parking...a rarity in DC.

“The biggest Church in America”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

An incredible building both inside and out. It is the largest Church in the United States and an easy metro ride to Catholic University of America stop.

“Put this on your travel agenda!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

A truly beautiful and spiritual place to visit. We took the free guided tour, which was extremely informative - gave lots of background information on the many chapels and artwork. Tour was about an hour long. Plenty of free parking across the street with a cafeteria, bookstore and gift shop on the premises. Wish we had been there for mass.
