“Nice Date place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We had a lovely evening at this establishment. The wine list is extensive and there should be something to satisfy most palates. Our waiter was knowledgable but not intrusive. We enjoyed salads, entrees, and dessert as well a bottle of wine. There were four of us an 3 of us ordered the spinach salad. We all loved the warm bacon dressing. The 4th member ordered French onion soup and he was quite happy. We ordered 4 sides which are ala carte. The favorite was the cream corn followed by the mashed potatoes. We also had the lobster mac and cheese. It was okay but not fantastic. Our 4th side was the braised spincach. We weren't expecting the flavor we got but it worked. As for the star of the meal...the meat. 2 of us ordered the Delmonico with the porcini flavoring and we loved it. It is a huge portion(22 oz) and we added the lobster tails to it. These were the tenderest most flavorful lobster tails ever. It is worth the additional expense. The other 2 guests had the Kona rubbed steaks. They enjoyed them but liked the Delmonico a little better. Steaks were prepared as ordered and were tender and flavorful. Dessert portions were excellent. We all ordered something different but the favorite by far was the sorbet of the day which was mango. The restaurant make these and there ice cream and they do it well. I am not a fan of key lime but i really enjoyed their version, topped with pistaschios. They served the cheescake with a bruleed top. We al;so had the strawberries topped with ice cream and grand marnier and port sauce. The only complaint weas that more sauce was needed. In all, this is a great place to clelbrate or have a romatic dinner. The service is attentive but not pushy, anf the food is worthy of its pricing,

“Consistant”

I have frequented many high end steak & seafood restaurants and all of them are measured to this restaurant. Professional and prompt service with great food.

“Perfect Steak”

My husband is a food snob and he loves Cap Grill. Food and service never let you down. The waiters know when you need them and know how to vanish when you don't.

“Quick service good pasta”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Arrived there around 7h30 pm with colleague. We were seated within one minute, the order which was made up of suggestions from the waiter was taken within five minutes and food came ten minutes later. Two fair sized orders of pasta; the price was reasonable for DC

“Classic Steakhouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We walked by this restaurant on our way to the News Museum. The aged meat in the window caugh my eye. We returned after the museum closed. We were seated quickly even though we did not have a reservation. The restaurant filled up quickly. The service was excellent. The food was great. I shared a 14 oz steak ($42), Sam's mashed potatos ($10), salad ($9) and green beans ($10). I was full. This a good choice for a steak.
