“The Not So Hidden DC Secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants my husband and I have ever been to. Food was exceptional. We had the salad sampling, pasta sampling for 2 and dessert sampling, which were four/five different samples of pasta in different sauces, 3 small samples of different salads, and four small samples of desserts.

All were delicious!

If you're looking for a quite dinner, this isn't the place. It was very loud, which may bother some (not us).

“Delicious light Italian fare that is a bit different from the usual”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Had lunch at the Acqua al 2, a very unique take on Italian cuisine. Had the fennel and pine nuts salad (something different and delicious), the pasta with porcini mushroom, and some creamy spinach ball. Pasta is cooked al dente, the sauce is light and savory and service is excellent. Rally enjoyed the lunch. Great ambience.

“Best Italian food on the east coast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

The service was wonderful. We tried one of the specials and it was excellent. The bread, appitizer and pasta dish was the best we have ever eaten. The restuarant is decorated in way that everywhere you look starts a new conversation about the piece or artwork! Highly recommend it!

“Amazing Italian in DC: Jewel of Capitol Hill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

We ate here at the recommendation (and with) a friend who is a big fan and frequent guest.

I couldn't have been more pleased. We all ordered the steak trio entree and I highly recommend it.

“Best Italian food and wine in DC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012 via mobile

Acqua Al 2 is great. Wonderful food great service. Good for vegetarians, pescetarians, and meat eaters alike. For the veggie-tarians they have great salads and tons of pasta dishes. I do not eat beef but have gone there with friends who can't say enough about the steak with blueberry sauce. Also great desserts. I suggest the panna cotta - light and almost custard-like but panna cotta (ie not dry like some panna cottas can be; it is delicious. One of my favorite places in DC.
