“Beautiful Art, Beautiful Building, Beautiful Grounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

This museum is filled with magnificent paintings by Monet,Cezanne, Picasso, and more. The building itself is gorgeous, set in Georgetown. The grounds are exquisite and have lovely sculptures. The docent who led our tour was very interesting and knowledgeable. The time flew by.

Very small and specialized museum, easy to get to and easy to visit. Never too crowded and nicely mounted

“Interesting house turned into a museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2012

Kreeger built this as his home, with the intention that it would be a museum after his death. As a building, it is very interesting, built using an 11 foot cube as the basic unit. The art is pretty good, too.

“Gorgeous exhibit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

This is a fantastic museum. It's. It overwhelming and the art and the sculpture garden is great. The collection is recognizable and diverse. You see the masters. Go when it's warm out so you can spend sometime outside. This is a great place to kill an hour. The art and the mansion are wonderful. I wonder what it would have been like to live here like the Kreegers did. The staff are knowledgable and very kind. Well worth the trip. No cafe or anything but a great place. I went with my mom and had a nice time. I saw a few kids, too, but wouldn't recommend that. Parking is easy as its right outside.

“Home of very good impressionist paintings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2011

First off - the name of the museum is Kreeger not Kreegar as listed in TripAdvisor. The art collection is housed in the former home of the Kreeger's and displays a collection of art paintings and sculptures plus currently Washington DC artist exhibit. The number of paints is small compared to a public museum - but the quality of artist displayed is impressive like the Claude Monet paintings. I would recommend this museum for art lovers especially for impressionist paintings. I do wish they allow you to take photos inside the museum that is my biggest complaint.
