we visited, almost by chance, this beautiful botanic exhibition situate within the Smithsonian complex of museums. We would warmly praise the receptionist who helped with a broken boot in a most professional manner. It was a freezing cold day and the warmth of the gardens, especially the "Jungle" was lovely,.
The museum is laid out in a series of inter connecting botanical clearly defined areas, some 60,000 plants are contained within the well laid out gardens, there is a beautiful orchid garden, a medicinal garden, cacti, ferns, succulents, an elegant courtyard with fountains playing. There is also a childrens' garden. Well worth a visit. Easy to understand even if you cannot recognise one flower from another!!!
