“Worth a stroll”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2011

If you're in town during one of the great open house events, definitely go tour the embassy's. Other times of year the embassy's can be really interesting to walk by. Many are very unique.

Not for impatient children :)

“Good for Everyone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2010

Everyone should drive through once, it is just interesting how different the houses are. It is kind of hard to see some of the flags and plaques indicating which embassy you are looking at. Maybe do a quick flag lesson before you take the drive. It was raining, which is why we took the drive…I think next time we would walk or bike through. A segway tour of these would be nice.

“Nice drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2009

We normally take visitors on a drive down Embassy Row, usually in conjunction with a visit to Georgetown and the National Cathedral. It goes on for about 5-10 minutes depending on how fast you are driving as the previous poster said, each embassy has its own individual style. These buildings were originally mansions built for millionaires in the 19th century. Sometimes it is hard to identify the country from the car, unless you are very familiar with all of the national flags. As a tip, the Indian embassy has a statue of Ghandi and the British embassy has a statue of Winston Churchill.

“Wonderful aimless wandering”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2008

I had signed up to go to a documentary screening in the Dupont Circle area and had to navigate through the Embassy Row area to find the place. Unfortunately, I was underdressed, but fortunately, I stumbled upon such a beautiful neighborhood. Each building had its own unique architecture representative of that country's style, and the beauty just went on and on. I must have spent hours just meandering through the area, admiring all the fancy, amazing buildings. It was great fun and free too!
