“went for the 19th Annual Health & Fitness Expo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

....going here was a pleasure.... large arenas ... other events going on but, this was the main one and the one I came for.

www.dcconvention.com/events.aspx

.................can be easily reached by Metro,

NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo 2012 19th Annual Jan 14 & 15

First let me say parking was not an issue. New to the area and not wanting to walk ,get lost or pay a ton of money I was able to park a few Blocks away for $7.00 all day. $20.00 if I wanted to park just a little closer but not by that much.

For parking areas try;

www.dcconvention.com/content/pdf/parkinglot.aspx

......can be easily reached by Metro

Lots of Booths ! A few of the Free Screening's were; Diabetes Screening, Blood Pressure, Kidney Disease Risk, Hearing. Free massage, very long line. Free Nutrition Counseling. Tons of Hand Outs for everything imaginable. Healthy Cooking Demo's ...Warning all though informative being in this area made you Hungry. Speaking which, Concessions on both sides of the event. Lots of stuff for the children too! Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball, Rock Climbing Wall, Throwing footballs and getting your picture taken behind a Redskins Life size sculpture with your head where the player's would be . That was just some of the many activities provided.

Meet the NBC4 Team.

Meet some of the "Biggest Loser's" from the T.V. Show.

I can literally say Health and Fitness was covered from A right down to Zumba!

it's all ready on my Calendar for next year.....

***** This was a FREE Event *****

.....if you plan on attending another type event check to confirm Free or FEE !

“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2012

Great space for conventions and trade shows. It's located near the Chinatown area also -- good location for lunch/dinner.

“Nice center but overpriced food that's NOT worth it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2011

I went here for a convention and paid quite a bit for the food. Do not eat here. Go outside and find a place. The salad bar.charged per PLATE not by weight. So if you decide to buy a 15 dollar salad build a jenga tower with the letttuce
The center itself was really nice

“" A very Professional Convention Center "”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2011

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is one of the best that I/we have been to. It is a very modern beautiful large building. This past July we attended the Nasft/Fancy Food Show during a modest heatwave (temps around 100'F & high humidity levels) in Washinton DC . The Temperature in the entire center was delightful/cool on every day we attended. What a pleasure! As for the staff of the center, everyone we encountered was very polite & professional, from the coat check staff to the concierge/welcome center staff. The entire convention center was very well lit & clean, from the public areas to the rest rooms. Within walking distance from many hotels and/or neighborhoods. Looking foward to attending next years show there.
