“Shear madness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2013 via mobile

A hilarious comedy with a great troupe. They strive to make the audience laugh and they succeed. A wonderful evening that began with dinner at the Roof Terrace restaurant which was exquisite. A great end to a wonderful week. I don't want to give the play away. It's a must see. AAA discount is available that saves about $10.

“Great venue for theatre and concerts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

The Kennedy Center is one of the cultural hubs of DC and there are always great performances there. Even if you aren't seeing a show it is worth a visit to talk on the terrace overlooking the Potomac.

“Tourists should not miss the free Millenium Stage performances”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

As a family residing in the DC area for decades, we know that Washington was a backwater city until the opening of the Kennedy Center. Suddenly culture came to us in a dramatic and affordable way in a lovely setting on the Potomac River. We regularly attend operas, theater performances and concerts.

While visitors to Washington would not likely have The Kennedy Center on their list of places to visit, I strongly recommend that visitors -- Americans and foreignors alike -- finish their day here. Why? As many of the sites close by 5pm, every day at 6pm The Kennedy Center Millenium Stage hosts a free performace for an hour of a visiting group. I recall seeing the wonderful Norwegian Girls Choir performing there before we saw an Opera. The Girls Choir was free, and better than the expensive opera we saw!

If you visit for a performance at 6, be sure to see the famous statue of JFK and take a stroll outside on the veranda to look at the Potomac and Roosevelt Island. We always make a point of coming here in late October to see the island fall colors.

“Always something going on”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

The Kennedy Center always some sort of show going on, so there is no excuse not to go. There is food available so if you get there early you can get a quick bite, and nothing runs terribly long, so you can make it a reasonable night.
