“A special venue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

The outdoor terrace overlooking the Potomac is a wonderful place to enjoy a drink before or after a performance, or at intermission. The venue would be ideal if it had better acoustics and more reasonable parking.

“Go for the view from the terrace and for the free nightly Millenium Stage performance”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

The plays are mediocre. The scenery is built for a short run, as are the costumes so they are nothing like Broadway. The concerts are OK but I still go to NYC for my theatre and performing arts fix. Restaurants are very overpriced in the Kennedy Center. Use the subway and free shuttle (see the KC website). Driving is a challenge-even with GPS. Plenty of parking but it is expensive. Don't forget to look out at the Watergate and get a feel of history:) but the view from the terrace is the best in DC since the Washington Monument closed to the public.

“Beautiful for events”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

I'm not sure I would recommend this for your typical tourist, but if you get a chance to come to an event - concert, play, etc. - it's awesome. I volunteer now, and have received an indepth tour with information I never knew about the place. Got to learn about the different halls, the architecture and the many gifts from foreign governments - made due to their great respect for President Kennedy. Between my scheduled volunteer times, I just wandered the area and found it to be a very worthwhile visit.

“JFK Center”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2012

I have been to many plays there and they are always wonderful. I once had a friend who donated her time to be a guide...forget what they call their guides now.

“Fitting tribute to JFK”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012 via mobile

The Kennedy Center is an impressive monument to the American President. The simple but imposing building is located in a beautiful waterside setting. There is a free performance provided on the Millenium Stage every evening at 6pm; we were treated to a recital from members of the house orchestra.
