“Don't Stay Here!!!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

I would recommend paying more and staying somewhere else. This hotel is in need of renovation and the location is horrible. The hotel does not have a restaurant and there is nothing in the area to get anything to eat (I would not want to walk around in this area anyway). There was someone calling rooms with a scam trying to get personal information from the guest (My room is one of the rooms that was contacted) at 4am, and one guest had their car stolen from the lot. Had to switch rooms because the elevator shared a wall with my room and the noise was ridiculous (Elevators need work). Carpet in the hotel is awful, especially in the two guest rooms that I had!!! Heating system made too much noise and the noise from the traffic outside was horrible, did not sleep well all three nights. Housekeeping did not clean my room one of the days that I stayed - we left the room at noon and they were still cleaning so I can't understand why they didn't clean it. Breakfast was OK - but the meat didn't look like it was completely cooked and the coffee had grinds in it. Went with a group for the Inauguration and my rate could not be cancelled, plus all the nicer hotels were booked.

When we complained about the name, we were told they weren't calling it that anymore, but it stayed on their website until a couple of days ago. It's probably still that way on booking.com. Not only is it 3 miles from Union Station, it's absolutely in the middle of nowhere. They offer a shuttle to Union Station but it has pretty limited hours. Aside from that, it was terribly run. In spite of having my name added to the reservation, they couldn't find the info and I had to wait around 2 hours until my friend's plane came in. Then I discovered that my "bed" (a foldout couch) was badly broken and practically impossible to sleep in. It took them two full days to replace with an almost equally bad rollaway. Nothing would induce me to stay there again, and I'll be suspicious of any Comfort Inns in the future.

Our one-night stay here was among my very worst hotel experiences. We booked because of it's much advertised proximity to Union Station and our understanding that we were booking a "Suite". It's in a grim, sad area nowhere near the station, and has only rooms with unseparated TV areas. The fold out, and the subsequent cot I tried, were in such bad shape that I finally slept on a mattress on the floor! We couldn't wait to escape......

Can't really complain about this place, sitting next to main road, far enough from city centre (but they provide free shuttle services to union square), clean rooms, standard breakfast, free internet etc. It is an average comforr inn quality place, with friendly staff. The only thing that strikes me is that they charge for parkings. The place is so far from everything, and yet they charge for parking, so be aware of this when you come staying here.

Room Tip: stay on the side that is not facing the road

The staff was very friendly. The room was was nice and clean. The breakfast more than adequate. But there are two problems. 1. Too far from a Metro station to walk ( they do provide a shuttle). 2. Hotel sits directly next to an Amtrac line. Wow! Talk about noise!!! If you get a room on the street side you may be ok. Otherwise forget it

A good base for a sightseeing trip to the capital. It was comfortable and clean. The transfer between the station and the hotel was efficient. We had a good nights sleep and a good breakfast. I would use it again.
There were people there moaning, but they appeared to want 4 star quality and yet pay 2 star prices.
