“Nice Modern Downtown place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Traveling home from vacation, DC was a nice diversion from the hectic I95 traffic. We took an evening and morning in DC to grab some pictures of monuments and see a few things. We have been to DC many times, stayed many places, this one rates at the top. The staff was most helpful, from the valet to the front desk and concierge. Located just a few blocks from the White House yet somewhat secluded on a one way street. Nice restaurant/bar located in the lobby with health conscious menu, yet very tasty. We had a late night snack after sightseeing in DC.
They offer a late check out so you are not rushed in the morning. We walked to the White House and back and still had plenty of time to relax before check out. Very clean and refreshing hotel.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor in a pet friendly room. Our dog was very comfortable.

Excellent accommodation with great room service. Very well located. Taxis available in the hotel entrance. Great lounge with restaurant and dinning area. Friendly staff. Incredibly clean amenities. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Accessible. Close to downtown and cultural center.

From the moment I arrived, the hotel staff was gracious and accommodating. Front office staff was helpful in granting me early room check-in/access and handled all of my needs efficiently and with a smile.

Accommodations were lovely and all services and amenities were top notch. Definitely worthy of my patronage in the future!

My sister-in-law and I drove to DC and as soon as we arrived, the Westin staff showed a high level of kindness that lasted throughout our stay. The hotel itself and our room were very clean. The location of the hotel allowed us to see all the sights without having to take a cab, we walked everywhere. In the evening, we were surrounded by restaurants so we walked. There is a Whole Foods that is conveniently located three blocks away and we ate breakfast there one early morning. All in all I would stay here again and next trip I'll bring the grandchildren.

The staff at this hotel was friendly and helpful. The Housekeeping Service was excellent. The restaurant and bar near the lobby was very good. The Business Center was easily accessible. The Breakfast Service offered on the Mezzanine Level was OK. Buffet worked better than ordering from the menu as the delivery of food was slow. The AC was noisy for a "light" sleeper.

I originally booked a different hotel, but due to a major maintenance issue they had to cancel our room and booked us at the Westin.

The Westin (~$259/night for my stay) was a nice hotel. It looks freshly renovated - the lobby, hallways and rooms are all in great condition. Checking in was quick and easy, facilitated by friendly staff members.

The room was nice, having a fairly large flat screen HD TV, comfortable beds, mini fridge, and rainfall shower head. My room also had an interior view - many rooms overlook the main lobby/atrium. I don't mind this at all, but if you are looking for an exterior view, make sure you specify that.

Unfortunately, the hotel was not as conveniently located for the events we attended as the one I originally booked, but that isn't the Westin's fault. It is in a great area, and is close to most sightseeing attractions - very close walking distance to the White House.

The one weird thing about this hotel - not one pop (or soda, if you prefer) machine in the entire place. I checked several floors before asking a staff member and being told that it doesn't exist. You have to leave the hotel and walk around the block to get a pop (soda). That's a bit inconvenient.

I did not use the WiFi during my stay, but it was available.

All in all, I would stay here again if I were sightseeing in the area of the White House.

Our stay at the Westin was enjoyable. To begin with, first impression of the hotel was with valet service and I must say, we were more than satisfied with the service they provided. Next, at the front desk, we felt welcome and we were also upgraded to a city view. Although the dining room was rather busy, the staff (Abdul) was genorous with his time and management of the guest. Over all we were pleased and look forward to our next visit.
