“Good service, price and location...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

We stayed at this hotel on a weekend jaunt to Washington D.C. to visit friends. The location of the hotel was great for us first time visitors; within walking distance of all the main sites (e.g. White House, memorials, museums, etc.) and a subway station. The room was spacious, clean and modern and the service was very good, including complimentary wine in the lobby every evening. My only complaints are as follows: as with all Westin hotels, the Wifi is not included in the room rate and is ridiculously expensive to purchase and our room faced the interior court yard of the hotel so we didn't have any windows facing the exterior. If natural light is something important to you - make sure to request a room facing the exterior.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the exterior; otherwise you will have no natural light.

We arrived at the Westin on New Year's Eve. We were welcomed warmly and checked in without fuss. The room was large and simply decorated- it had a business feel to it. Having not made New Year's eve plans the concierge was very helpful in booking a restaurant for a family dinner. The gym was impressive- clean modern and large. We found the position of the hotel suited us as we are happy to walk decent distances
when seeing a city.

My family stayed here on a last minute trip to the city. We were actually in town visiting after experiencing a death in the family. Everyone we came in contact with was exceptional. The guest service we experienced in this hotel was above average. Debebe, who I understand is a bell man, (but may as well be a concierge!) was standing at the concierge desk and was so happy to help us find our way to the monuments. He pulled out a map and started circling all the close-by sights. This was so helpful! That evening, after we got back from sightseeing, My boyfriend and I decided to have a drink at the bar and look at the dinner menu to decide if our family should eat there or venture out of the hotel. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted by Barry, behind the bar. Barry happily chatted with us while we waited for our family to meet us. He arranged for a table to be set for 5, before they arrived. He cheerfully discussed local brews and distilleries with my boyfriend who is also in the restaurant industry. When my family joined us for dinner, Barry pulled double duty and served our table. Being just as personable and friendly. After dinner, not quite tired yet, my boyfriend and I decided to go back down to the bar for a night cap. Barry was still there and remembered our names. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel comfortable and welcome. Also important, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We will keep the Westin City Center in mind for our next visit.

Stayed here at the end of December for 3 nights. I found it a very good (business style) hotel. The rooms were of a good size and as usual with Westin the beds were very comfortable.
I found the service to be above average from all staff. They have a good bar and dining area in the lobby and a more up market dining option on the mezzanine level.
The hotel is pretty well located with not much of a drive to the main attractions. It is also just a short walk from an array of restaurants (probably within 200 metres) and shops.
It also has an adequately equipped gym.
I would stay here again.

My family of 5 stayed at the Westin for 4 nights and both the service and hotel were very good!! The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms very very clean and the Westin beds were heavily. This hotel is close to the Metro but a bit of a walk to the monuments. The valet parking was very convienent but $50 a night!! You can save money by parking at a parking structure. The room service was outstanding and reasonably priced. The rooms don't have much of a view of DC. There is a CVS accross the street that we leveraged quite a bit. Great place to stay!

They've just finished a remodel some time in 2014 and that's definitely an improvement. Can't remodel their way out of having rooms that only face the indoor atrium though and that's a shame.

My biggest issue was the wifi being super spotty. They refunded the charge for me, but the issue was I needed the wifi to work!

Gym was ok. Clean and modern but nothing particularly special.

Happy hour for SPG members was a nice touch - I appreciated that.

Then there's the normal Westin stuff which was a win: the soaps, the sheets, the robes. Excellent as usual.

Dear SPG Guest,
Thank you very much for the opportunity to review your experiences does assist in improving the needs of guests. We have been investing in improving our Wi-Fi the last several months with 50% increase in receivers throughout the guest room floors and just last week increased the Bandwidth to 50MB and another additional 50mb not far away.
I do look forward to another opportunity to host a trip to our Nation’s Capital.
Be Well
Anthony
