“Staff, hospitality and property exceeded our expectations for our stay during our daughter's wedding weekend.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2009

Wonderful place to stay. This was hands down the most accomodating service we have ever received during a hotel stay, and we were there for 5 nights for our daughter's DC wedding this past weekend. The rooms were very clean, attractive, and well appointed. Location was superb for our guests touring nearby attractions. Our room block for out-of-town guests and family members was well-coordinated. The lobby, lounge and bar area provided gracious space for friends and family to mingle and visit. We enjoyed several meals at 15 RIA, and the food was very good as well. Our extended stay at the Doubletree on Rhode Island Avenue could not have been better. Our expectations were high for this major event in our lives, and those expectations were exceeded during our stay. Thank you all on staff for making our stay so nice and comfortable.

The room was nice. It was clean and pretty roomy. We were facing Rhode Island Ave, so it was a little noisy, but once we fell asleep in the soft beds, nothing woke us up. The bathroom was small and very skinny. Most of it was clean except for some mold on the tiles in the shower.

The staff was nice and friendly.

The location was ok, but it did require a car to get to most major attractions.

I would stay again.

i do not suggest this hotel if you drive buses. my experience was a nightmare ONLY from the standpoint of there is no bus parking anywhere. the valet, jeff is quite an enterprising young man. charged us $40 for on street parking beside the holiday inn which is not the property of any hotel making it available to anyone. like downtown dc hotels, parking is a night mare. as i said, know your limitations if you are a tour operator. put your bus driver up somewhere outside the city.
on the good side, anwar, the night manager was very professional and personable to deal with. rooms very well appointed. bathrooms were very small, but how much time do you spend in there vs. the main room? bed was very nice and the hi-def tv's were nice. wi-fi in the rooms will set you back $10/day. amazing that you can find a hotel just as nice outside the city for about $100/day less AND free internet.
overall, the hotel is nice and would recommend it to the normal business treveler.

My friend and I were guests of the Doubletree Hotel Washington DC this past week and were greatly impressed with the facility and staff. Everyone was polite and helpful. The lemon and ice water station in the lobby was a welcome sight for us after traveling all day. I was so impressed by the quality of service that I asked the front desk staff to make last minute changes in our reservation so that we could stay there another 2 nights.

The hotel was within walking distance to most of the attractions and historic sites in DC which was nice. I enjoyed just wandering the city checking out all that it had to offer. The staff helped us find our way and also advised us when and where to go after dark. The bartender(s) were esp. helpful in this area.

The room was well appointed and very comfortable. I do agree with one reviewer that noted that the bathrooms were small but it wasn't that big of an issue. There were plenty of fresh towels and amenities available. The beds were very comfortable and the room well appointed. Having a 2 cup coffeemaker in the room was a great idea. A great room overall.

The only other drawback was that they forgot to give me my cookie when I checked in. When I do return to the Doubletree Hotel Washington DC they owe me 2 cookies. Given the great service that this staff offers, I have no doubt that they will make sure I get them. When I return to DC I have no doubt that I will stay here. What a great hotel!

Good hotel, location, service, a standard Doubletree (even a nice exercise room), but the bathrooms... it's like a cruise ship bathroom. But if you don't care, this is a good place to stay in DC.

Great place to stay. Only bad points for me was the patchy service.

In the very quiet restaurant service seemed to vary from from perfunctory to surly. One of the receptionists was a bit tired and grumpy, whilst another was chirpy and lovely. Concierge was really good at chatting-up the female guests, whilst leaving guys with bags to leave like me waiting.

Location is awesome & I had a fabulous room that had everything you could want. It was clean and very comfortable. Refreshing iced lemon water at reception was a good idea and a welcome touch.

Ground floor lobby area had a bit of a weird and confusing lay out. Large bar and restaurant and function rooms with a tiny reception counter. The lift and coridoors leading to the bedrooms seemed a bit tired or maybe have just had a hard life.

Despite the almost Jeckyl and Hyde service, I would definately go back.
