The high quality is established at the front desk where Michael Love, Edgardo, and Johnny great each guest as though you are the one they were waiting for. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The hot chocolate in the lobby this winter is delicious and really welcome coming in from a sleety grey afternoon. I stay here frequently and will continue to do so.

Living and working in DC, I often dine at the George's Bistro Bis (always a great experience) and attend various events at the George. But I never had a reason to stay until last weekend...and now I'm hooked and would recommend the George to the most discerning of business or personal travelers. It was a wonderful experience: easy reservation system; check-in staff completely prepared, efficient and friendly, but not obsequious; lobby quietly vibrant, centered on the complimentary wine-tasting; bellman delightful; room sparkling both to sight and scent; bed comfortable and linens luxurious; serious nod to green-building standards; check-out a breeze; room-rate a value for an exceptional experience. Dinner at Bistro Bis was perfect--the wine recommendation a spot-on match for the dinner; the people-watching fun. A super location. My only regret is that I didn't stay for a longer time!

I traveled to DC over the week of Valentine's Day. My husband and daughter joined me for my business trip to the Hill. Everyone at the George was very friendly and helpful. The room was always clean and the bedding/bed is divine! One of my favorite things about Kimpton's is the great wine (and hot toddies) hour every night. They even had decadent hot chocolate at 2pm everyday. Hot chocolate, dark chocolate chips, real whipped cream, cinnamon....very nice.
The food and service at their Cafe Bistro was superb. We were in a hurry to send our daughter off to the airport shuttle. Our breakfast was served to us just within the time it takes to cook the eggs . Amazing. We actually had time to sit and enjoy our coffee and the last half hour of our visit with our daughter. All was done with joy by the waiter. You can't get better than that!

Wonderful to walk out of Union Station, see Capital Building and walk to nearby hotel! Hotel staff was so friendly and helpful, from checking us in to taking care of our luggage. Hotel has bustling restaurant/bar, which we didn't patronize, but was very hip and looked good. Lobby was on smaller side, but was beautifully decorated and served its purpose. My daughter had homework to do, and there was a lovely sitting room off of lobby, that was private and quiet, where she could study for a while and relax. Not sure what exact purpose of room was, but it was beautiful and she enjoyed quiet time.
Room was gorgeous, updated, modern, with wonderful toiletries. Free internet access, which is a must. Room was very tidy and comfy. Mattress was great, as was bedding and towels. Everything felt clean and smelled good.
Would most definitely stay again next time in DC. Very close to capital, long walk to White House, so probably a taxi unless you are a walker. Neighborhood felt safe. Starbucks on nearby corner. Hotel graciously stored our luggage and purposes for the day, as we visited White House and couldn't' take purses or bags with us. We picked them up prior to jumping on our train back to Baltimore...was seamless.
