“B&B in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Stayed 2 nights in room 6 (Jacuzzi room).
The owners were very friendly and helpful. We found sometimes they were perhaps a little too accommodating in terms of pushing suggestions of places to go and things to do. We are young, independent travellers and felt it was perhaps more suited to older clientele.
The B&B is in a great location, very close to restaurants and transport. Easy 15 minute walk to the National Mall.
The Jacuzzi in this room is enclosed by a shower screen – combined shower/bath. There were also 2 flights of steps to get up to this room, so this should be considered if you will have a lot of luggage.
A computer and printer were available for guest use which was very handy.
A sit down breakfast for all guests is served at 8am.
Overall, it was clean and comfortable with good linen and pillows.

I love the B&B experience, my husband not so much, yet even he was happy with our stay at the Aaron Shipman House. Our room was perfect to relax in after a long day touring. We stayed in Room 2 which has a it's own bathroom (next door to the room, yet it's all yours) with a Jacuzzi. Perfect for our tired feet and backs! Breakfast was always a fun visit around the table with all the other guests, many who were visiting from out of the country. You definitely are encouraged to make the house your home and we did. I loved the outdoor patios (several nooks to sit and enjoy). We loved that we were a few blocks to many great restaurants. We'll definitely recommend to all our friends.

Welcoming hosts and a charming place to stay in Washington. We appreciated the handy hints regarding getting out and about and it was good to come "home" to a " home away from home" each day. The whole food store a couple of blocks away was great for snacks and ready made meals.

We stayed in the room at the front in the King bed. It was quiet and very clean. The house was beautifully decorated. I love the Brownstones! It is alos in an area that was easy to get around. Jackie is so helpful and will answer all of your concerns. We had a wonderful trip! Cannot wait to go back and do some bike riding.

My husband and just returned from our 5 day visit to DC and our stay at the lovely Aaron Shipman House B and B. The owners Jackie and Charles treats each and every guest as if they are
part of their family. Delicious and nutritious breakfasts each morning are served in the formal dining room with Jackie and Charles at the head of the table while each guest is encouraged to make their introduction. Lively conversation and helpful information is exchanged. The location was perfect. Close to the bus and metro, great selection of restaurants AND a bonus ...Whole Foods! The rooms are so welcoming and the beds very comfortable. We will be back!!
