“Great View - An Alternative to the Closed Washington Monument”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

The Old Post Office Pavilion is a DC architectural landmark with a nice statue of Ben Franklin in front and a mall in the interior but the real attraction is the view from the top of the tower which is fantastic and worth the wait in the relatively short line that moves reasonably quick. With the Washington monument closed till some time in 2014, the view from the tower is the only alternative to get a bird’s eye view of DC. Even when the Washington Monument reopens, one may still wish to consider this view as the access to the top is much less of a hassle.

“Best view in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

The Old Post Office is a must see in my book. The view from the tower is the best in town--much better than The Washington Monument because you get the full view, not just from the tiny square windows in the monument. Plus, you get to see the monument as well as the entire DC area. If you are lucky enough to be there when they are having "bell practice", that is a great experience. True, there are little shops and a food court, but the place has to support itself. And, while you wouldn't go there expecting a 4 star meal, it's not a bad place to grab a quick bite for lunch and rest your feet! Definitely worth the trip.

“Great panoramic view of all DC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Extremely informative regarding how the bells are pealed. The old bells are beautiful and you can see the mechanism in all it's glory. The view from the top of the tower is great - however picture taking is hard because of the windows, etc.

“Cool Building-nothing to see”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

This has to be one of the coolest building in all of DC and what did they do you may ask....they brutalized it. The inside has been turned into a trashy, non descript mall with horrible food outlets. There is a tour to the top of the tower but you can achieve a much better view in DC going to the Washington monument. Better yet head down the block to the "W" and have a cocktail on the roof top restaurant.

“Campy, struggling, mall-esque”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

A great building but it's been struggling to find itself since it stopped being the post office. The foodcourt is usually overflowing with loud school groups of kids. The shops seem to die as quickly as they are put up. Very skippable though I hear the view from the tower is nice.
