We went on the Monument at Night tour. It was wonderful! It started at Union Station where we bought our tickets. You also can buy them on-line. We stood in line about 10 minutes while they loaded the trolleys. It was orderly and efficient. We got on our bus and headed towards the Capitol. Jason was our tour guide and was very knowledgable. Once we got up Capitol Hill, the Capitol police stopped us and pointed out that our headlights were not working. Jason pulled the trolley over and called for a new trolley. During our wait, he shared many interesting facts about DC. Once we got the new trolley, we were on our way. It was wonderful! We stopped and toured the Lincoln Memorial and the Korean War Memorial. We then drove by the Washington Memorial and the WW II Memorial. We drove as close as we could get by the White House. We headed across the River to the Marine Monument (not to be missed!) We were able to get off the trolley and walk around it. We drove by the Jefferson Memorial, and then stopped by the Martin Luther King, Jr. and the FDR Memorials. It is a great way to see the monument because they let the tour buses drop you off closer than you can park. We got back to Union Station about 10:15 (tour started about 7:30). We really enjoyed it! Jason was great!
