“Unmissable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

The variety and quality of the displays is breath-taking. I would rate it as a ' must see' in that it has very good interactive displays, very engaging information and examples of the space programs and a comprehensive coverage of many aspects of flight. Our boys were deeply affected by the cold war missile displays and the nuclear bombs attached to them.

“Cool!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

This seems like it would be a great place to take young kids. We are not super fascinated with flight and outer space, but it was nice to spend an hour or so there. Seems like they stopped adding new things around the mid 80's, but the old artifacts are cool.
We were lucky to be there on a day that was not crowded at all.
The IMAX about the Hubble was well worth the $9 ticket price.
The cafeteria is fast food: McDonalds and Donatos. If that appeals to you or your kids, you are in luck. If you are like us and want a more unique experience, go next door to the Museum of the American Indian for lunch

“The Space Race”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

Of all the Smithsonian Buildings, this one is not to be missed. This is a great place for all ages. Allow yourself plenty of room depending on the time of year you visit. The best time to visit, to avoid the crowds, is in October after summer vacation, the weather is still warm and the atmosphere is non-threatening (no long lines). Times to avoid (any time schools are on vacation).
This attraction has one of the largest Mc Donalds I have ever visited, and a favorite of my 11 year old grandson

“WOW!! MindBlowing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

We saw some pretty mind-blowing stuff, apollo launches, the lunar landing module, the first plane built by the Wright brothers. Be sure to give this an entire day because it is HUGH!!. Also don't forget to get the absolutely gorgeous fridge magnets from the gift shop. Photos will follow soon.
