“Fantastic exhibition”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Well set out, easy to get around and extremely educational. I particularly enjoyed the display on the Wright brothers and their achievements.

I was however surprised that there was virtually no reference to helicopters, which given their importance in American history ( and wars), was somewhat baffling.

“Amazing Display of Aircraft”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

This is one of the most important places in Wash DC to visit. As a Naval Aviator it is like going home to hug several aircraft and dream of flying others. Many interactive exibits, films and models. If you have never been, you must go and if returning it is like visiting old friends. A must visit. Free admission.

“History is in the Air . . .”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Many awesome exhibits, including the iMax theater (for admission fee), make this worth a day or two to explore. Actual spacecraft are on display and remind one of the drive and courage which made flight a reality. Some craft are enabled for walk-through, with steps and sometimes cramped spaces.
From the Wright Brothers to Spacelab, all can be enjoyed for free. There are concessions there and the flight simulators are exhilarating. Also, many exhibits are interactive and enabled for children to use.

“Amazing for a pilot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013 via mobile

This place it a pilots playground. This was the first time I visited the museum since I became a pilot and I was able to respect it that much more. I spent 4 hours in there and felt like I rushed through. (My wife was getting bored). It was quite busy on the Saturday I visited so a weekday would probably be a better to go.

“Excellent presentations.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Well themed throughout, and in most cases well presented. Scourge of all museums - too much in too small a space and difficult to photograph some items, but would say this is one of the better ones. Would class as a 'must visit'.
