Worth a visit if you haven't been...
Personally, not much has changed since my last visit 10+ years ago.

“Simply amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

As my children watched Night at the Museum 2 before our trip, their excitement over seeing the museums just grew. Then when we walked into the lobby, it just was unbearable for them. They loved seeing the space exploration exhibit and the Wright Brothers exhibit. Walking through the airplane was a hit and seeing how travel has changed (especially in terms of the food served) made them laugh. We watched 2 IMAX shows and were grateful for the price break for the second one. The sales person there was very insightful and very helpful as to which of the movies would appeal to our differing family members. Loved the food court area - very open spaces for sitting (we brought our own lunch and were still able to find room to sit). One thing I found odd was there were only restrooms upstairs and by the food court - the entire one side of the building on the lower level was devoid of facilities.

“Exciting for all ages!”

We loved the National Air and Space Museum! I highly recommend this to everyone of all ages! My favorite parts of the museum were seeing the Wright Brothers plane and an Amelia Earhart plane!

“Outstanding...and free”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

In common with all of the other Smithsonian properties, this museum is free. It used to be even fuller but the expansion to the Udvar Hazy Centre (out near Dulles airport and also well worth a visit) means that some of the aircraft (e.g. the Enola Gay) are now housed out there. Even if you are not a museum person, you will find time passing without you realising as you meander around this excellently constructed record of human flight. I've done all of the Smithsonian museums in DC and this is easily the best (though the art galleries, the Natural History Museum and the Museum of American History are also fantastic).

Don't just leave it until a rainy day in DC - put it on your must sees. (Tip - if you are on the Mall seeing the other sites, come here for a couple of hours in the heat of the day to cool down. All of the monuments on the mall photograph better in the morning and afternoon anyway - the light around midday in DC is just too harsh.)
