“Take time to walk a part of the Mall.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2015 NEW

After walking through memorials and buildings this past week, I took the time to "slow down" and take my time to walk the National Mall. I read that this is referred to as "America's Front Yard."

Keep an eye out for joggers as you walk your path. Walk by the iconic Smithsonian Castle, which is the main information center. Many of the Smithsonian museums are found in this area. It is one miles between the capitol and the Washington Monument.

Enjoy the green space in this city. Yes, there is some construction right now in the area, but we still enjoyed this space quite a bit.

“There are no words”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2015 NEW

No matter how much you like history there is something to learn that you did not know about the National Mall. Emotions run high in this place of history as well as a pride compared to none other. Seeing the mall on tv is nothing like being there. A must for all who travel to DC especially those that are USA citizens.

“Nice walk but nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2015 NEW

My wife and I walked around here for an hour or so checking out all the different things and weren't too terribly impressed. Everything was brown, dirty, and not very well taken care of.

One almost feels like that have to walk around here just because of the location but if you miss it, you aren't missing anything...

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2015 NEW

Sooooo much to do. Too many museums to complete seeing them in our 6 day stay. Smithsonian really out did it's self. Many of the museums are free. great walk ways to reach them all. Loved seeing all the local joggers pass us up along the way. The concessions could use a little work as their was not much to choose from and very little sitting room. The tables were not sheltered as well and we sat at wet tables in the rain. Birds were very brave thieves steeling food the moment you turned around at the food pick up window. The mall is currently being expanded and has a bunch of construction.

“A must but under construction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2015 NEW

Of course you will go and get inspired, but there is a lot of construction right now. Concentrate on the major sites, and you won't regret it.
