Wife and I ate here our last night in DC. We got there for our 5:30 reservation and were quickly seated and actually got to choose where we wanted to sit. We sat outside, which I knew was a risk because of the homeless in DC and we were approached by a homeless person but I asked to eat in peace and we were not bothered. I ordered the ribeye and it was delicious. It was a little overlooked, but still full of flavor. I was able to get half order sides to equal one side. The sautéed mushrooms are amazing. My wife got the fixed menu for $40 which I included a small Virginia ham/arugula salad with fresh mozzarella, 10 oz filet mignon and a desert. Her steak was cooked perfectly. She loved the salad. However, they did bring out the wrong desert, but being the chocolate lovers we are the desert was great.
The staff was extremely apologetic for the over cooking of my steak and the wrong desert. They gave me a free beer and made my first beer free as well as my wife's soda. Had the restaurant made the same mistakes with no attempt at taking blame I'd still give it an average review because the food and drink were delicious. Some people are just too picky!
