“Finally, a Good & Affordable Restaurant in DC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

DC is a tough place to find an affordable, tasty meal. And adding good service to the mix makes it even more difficult. However, Et Voila! has been a pleasant surprise! The menu, though limited, is quite good and consistently prepared. The service is attentive but not cloying. My one tip is to make sure you make a reservation otherwise you'll be frustrated by the long wait because the restaurant is small.

“Great meal in lovely setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

We are always in search of a great restaurant in a small lovely setting. Et Voila! fits the bill. The cuisine is French Belgium with an international flair. The wine list was provided good offerings. In addition, the service was efficient and professional. It was thoroughly delightful evening

“Very nice Sunday brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We have been here numerous times for Sunday brunch over the last few years. We always have a positive experience: the food is good and the service is attentive and efficient. The mussels are well prepared as are the various eggs dishes. The bread is excellent--served warm and very crusty. Deserts are very good as well although the ice cream choice is limited to vanilla which is a shame.

“Feel A Bit Let Down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Since this restaurant was rated among the top 100 by Washingtonian, I had been looking forward to going for a while and finally had the opportunity to lunch there. It is small, it is attractive, and my mouth was watering at the menu selections. There is a nice choice of wines by the glass, and being lunch time, it wasn't completely full so the noise was bearable, although the tables are European close. I had an omelet. It had the texture and taste of a sponge. The side salad was simple and delicious, just greens with vinaigrette. The frites were ok but not exceptional. Others had mussels and were disappointed in the broth. The report on the panini was that it was fine but not exciting. Service was perfunctory. They took half the plates away when half the party was still eating...that is not uncommon these days, but is a real turn off for me, I think it is rude. The dessert menu looked wonderful but we did not indulge. Heated milk for the coffee was a nice touch. It's by no means a bad restaurant, and perhaps it was just an off day for them, but we all left unenthused about a return visit.

“Pretty good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

Small, cozy Belgian restaurant with decent menu and service. We started with French onion soup and pumpkin soup, both of which were above average. We followed with the scallop and rib-eye, which were unusually succulent. Wrapped-up with opera cake and profiteroles; one critique is with profiteroles, where ice cream filling excessively dominated the pastry. But overall very good.
