“History buff not disappointed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2012

Take the time to visit this museum's amazing artifacts. Informative exhibits about our country's history include the original flag that flew over Ft. McHenry. Keep in mind that while most are free DC museums tend to be very crowded.

“Diverse exhibits”

Don't miss the gems, especially the Hope Diamond. Fascinating natural rock and mineral formations as well as dinos and tons of animal exhibits.

“Interesting if you haven't seen before”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

The Museum of Natural History is great if you haven't seen it before, however their exhibits do not change very frequently (they had many of the same exhibits as they did four years ago). More for the kids, the museum is good, but there are some others in the area that are just as good if not better. If you have a chance and the time, its worth stopping in to see, but if you don't there is not a whole lot you missed out on, as there is plenty to see and do in the area anyway.

“Hard to navigate!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

We hadn't planned on going to the Natural History Museum because we don't believe in evolution and many of their exhibits are dedicated to it. We figured we would just go see the few things we wanted to see. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded, hot and stuffy. Unlike the American History Museum, you start at an exhibit you want to see but then they funnel you into other exhibits you may not have any interest in. Ie we went into see mummies and got funneled toward the Butterfly Pavillion. Then you have to walk against the hoards to get out! Many people seemed to be enjoying....just be prepared to see the whole kit and kaboodle!
