“Simple and powerful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

I benefited from a very informative description of the controversy and design behind this memorial. And to fully appreciate its power you need to similarly inform yourself. The memorial itself is simple in execution but full of symbolism - as I think a memorial should be. The two accompanying statues are something else. I thought them out of place. The set of male soldiers seemed to me to be like oversized action figure toys and superfluous to the memorial. The one of female war participants seemed disconnected to the memorial, and out of place. I felt that a memorial commemorating women could have been better integrated to the central monument.

“Brings home how many were lost”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Looking at all of the names of those killed in the war and missing in action really brought home how many were killed and lost in that war.

“Touching as always”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

I've been to the memorial several times and am always moved. We were told by our tour bus driver that they intend to open a welcome center and display all the items people have left over the years. I think that's a great idea.

“Makes you appreciate life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

My husbands dad served in Vietnam and he doesn't talk much about the war. We were able to sketch some names off the wall (pencil & paper provided onsite) of men that served with him but didn't make it back. We are truly blessed to have men serve our country. Must visit!

“An absolute must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2013

A very poignant tribute to those who've perished. The psychology behind the memorial's architectural design is very poiwerful. A must see.
